Winona Ryder Probably Won't Be Seeing The Beaver
About that time Winona Ryder met Mel Gibson: "I remember, like, fifteen years ago, I was at one of those big Hollywood parties. And he was really drunk. I was with my friend, who's gay. He made a really horrible gay joke. And somehow it came up that I was Jewish. He said something about 'oven dodgers,' but I didn't get it. I'd never heard that before. It was just this weird, weird moment. I was like, 'He's anti-Semitic and he's homophobic.' No one believed me!" Oven dodgers? Good lord, Mel. [GQ]

This GQ article is actually a good one on Winona.
For somebody who has been able to overcome her own shady past, you'd think she'd be a lil more aware of the flames she's fueling.
Winona's has a shady past...She once shoplifted, that's not really something you have to overcome? Mel on the otherhand has a boatload of **** to swim through.
Agreed. And if you read the article I don't think she was fueling any flames.
I should have been more specific. She had to overcome an image problem with the public.
Look folks, as the child of a drunk black man, I have heard my dad say far worst in a drunken stopper. And I've heard other drunk people go to town in ways equally as stupid as Gibson. But to say his drunken rants are indicative of who he is deep down, I just don't buy that. I hope the guy gets help but I am not going to throw sand in his eyes while he is down and that's exactly what Ryder is doing here. Instead, she should remember her own inappropriate behavior that was due to a chemical dependence.
Winona needs to look in the mirror at her own stuff first - this was from a time where she was at the height of her own addictions. Unless someone else comes along to verify this, I'll be taking this with a HUGH grain of salt. Seems pretty pathetic on her part.
