Movieline's Favorite Feud of the Day: Piers Morgan vs. Madonna

Piers Morgan is preparing for the January launch of his new CNN talk show like any good muckraker should in the year 2010: By attacking Madonna? Wait, maybe that should read 2000. "She is too vegan for TV," Morgan told the Daily Express. "We have Lady Gaga now so Madonna is banned from my show." Who could argue with logic like that? Other than Madonna's publicist, of course.

In what amounts to the ultimate blow-off, Madge's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, told PopEater that "Madonna doesn't know who Piers Morgan is, but she's a big fan of Lady Gaga."

Har! Of course Madonna knows who Piers Morgan is -- he's very big in the place she pretends to be from. Though Madonna does seem to be following the anti-Piers Morgan playbook established previously. As PopEater remembers, Jon Stewart mocked the hiring of Morgan as such: "I think they've [CNN] made a brilliant choice by bringing in a British guy no one's ever heard of [to replace Larry King]. When I'm thinking about floating a sinking ship, what do I want to bring on it: A guy that people are going to tune in and go, 'Who's that, and why is he speaking so funny?'"
