20 Rejected Combinations that Were Considered to Host the Oscars in 2011
By now you've had a few hours to digest the news that James Franco and Anne Hathaway will host the Academy Awards next year, something that is likely a dream come true for Twentieth Century Fox (perhaps Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis can do an interpretive dance to commemorate the ten Best Picture nominees, too!). But who else was considered? Ahead, Movieline imagines 20 rejected Oscar-host pairings based on the selection of Franco and Hathaway.

Was this supposed to be funny? Lame. Very lame.
Help me out:
I don't get this...is there supposed to be something disagreeable about either of them? Also didn't get how the 19 fictional pairings mirrored or was based on Franco & Hathaway. No really, throw me a bone...what am I missing here?
Armie Hammer and himself as the Winklevoss twins. He could do the split outfit/makeup thing and be constantly turning left and right. I think this would elevate forced award show banter to another level.
a sense of humor
I was bummed to hear about Anne & James. Like them both but HOSTING the Oscars?! Really? Come on! But "LB" your comment made me laugh. Thanks
Fincher/Uwe Boll
Sam Rockwell/Kate Heigl
Hammer 's idea is funny
Christian Bale and Christina Aguilera would have been awesome... especially the parts where they mistake defensiveness for personality.
Christina: "Well, we think we're doing a good job, and anyone else who doesn't like it can just fuck off! Right Christian?"
Christian: "I'm mentally fucking half of them right now, and they're bloody awful. Yeah, you!"
Interesting choice. It’s nice to see young hollywood stars taking the reigns and a male/female duo can be a nice addition to the show.
Hmm, I think I'll repeat the comment above me and say this article/joke is "Lame. Very lame."
As a side note though, didn't Hathaway do a song or the opening number with Hugh Jackman when he hosted? She was good, too. I can't say I have any opinion of Franco though.
