Bristol Palin Loses Dancing with the Stars, Goes Out with 'Middle Finger'
Maybe there's hope for America yet. After weeks of speculation, conjecture, conspiracy and all-out panic, the blue portion of the nation breathed a big sigh of relief last night when Bristol Palin lost Dancing with the Stars. Next stop, the White House, amirite?! Oh, wait: Barack Obama is still president, Dancing with the Stars is just a television show, and liberal bête noire Sarah Palin wasn't even competing. So, why was everyone so outraged at the idea of a 20-year-old girl winning?
Maybe because she's just like her mother, in the best and worst ways possible. Like Mama Grizzly, Bristol had determination about her that probably did endear her to some non-Tea Party members of the viewing audience. She wasn't a good dancer, she didn't even look interested in being on the show, but gosh; she was plucky and resourceful!
But then there's the other side to Bristol -- the side that appeared last night on Dancing with the Stars, and the side that was eerily reminiscent of a certain former Alaskan governor. She's entitled, arrogant and obscenely self-serving. "Going out there and winning this would mean a lot," Bristol told the Dancing with the Stars audience during a clip package on the finale. "It would be like a big middle finger to all the people out there that hate my mom and hate me."
Graciousness shouldn't have a political party, but apparently for the Palins it does. They don't just want to defeat you; they want to crush anyone who opposes them, even in the most stake-free venues. Like Dancing with the Stars. Or Facebook.
In the end, that's probably why Bristol went home as second loser, while the right contestant went home with the mirrorball trophy. (Spoiler: it was Jennifer Grey; once again, no one puts Baby in a corner.) Politics aside, no one likes a sore winner. For the sake of everyone, let's hope Sarah doesn't learn from her daughter's mistakes.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble but the winners are essentially pre-determined with celebs signing only if they know they're going to make it to a certain week therefore making more money. I bet you Bristol signed on knowing she would be walking away from this show with a million plus salary.

Bristol is a beautiful young woman/mother. Congratulations on her strength, hard earned effort to go all the way for the mirrorball, despite all the BS she had to take along with it. For 20 year old single mother, she has shown a lot of courage and bravery.

I was inclined to be sympathetic to Bristol until the middle finger comment. Bless her for reminding us all that the Palins are really just famous trailer trash.

I am shocked by most of these comments. Who are you people? This is a TV show with a varied Cast. I don't agree with the politics or moral platforms of many of the participants. But I watch and enjoy for what it is, ENTERTAINMENT. I think it is pretty funny how people preach tolerance of Homosexuals, Immigrants, Alcoholics and the like, all of which were represented by this season's Cast. BUT as soon as someone expresses a Christian or Republican (not that these are inclusive or exclusive of each other) point of view, the claws come out. Doesn't toloerance go both ways? Brandy wanted to win so badly that she showed no humility, yet Bristol expresses her desire to win, one time and is called Crass, Crude, Entitled, Arrogant and Obscenely Self-Serving. Are you kidding me!! I think it is pathetic and the writer of this article should be ashamed to compare a TV Show to real life saying "maybe there is hope for America"???? If all Americans are anything like most of you posting, there is no Hope for Humanity.

As for your Obama comments... A) NOBODY was talking about Obama, but you are so partisan you couldn't stand to hear frank talk about someone tangentially related to your team without tossing out a non sequitur; B) Please give examples of how BO's "pissing away America's future right now." Judging by his actions recently, I'm guessing he wanted to save the country from a full-on depression before he pissed away its future. Typical Right Wing Know-Nothing mentality. There is NOTHING about any of the Palins that resembles the Christianity I was raised in. JC was humble and had no need for material wealth. Everything the Palins do is driven by hubris, narcissism and greed. Mama Grizzly quit her job as governor because she realized she could make more money selling books and making public appearances. Bristol has parlayed her aversion to condoms into public speaking career -- touting abstinence of all things. Tee hee. That kind of boundless avarice and lack of self-awareness doesn't usually skip a generation.
