Haven't We Seen EW's Nude Anne Hathaway/Jake Gyllenhaal Cover Somewhere Before?
Entertainment Weekly is riding the Jake Gyllenhaal/Anne Hathaway live-flesh beat pretty hard this week, unveiling not one, not two, but three separate covers featuring the Love and Other Drugs duo in various nude embraces. Hot stuff! But haven't we seen something like this before somewhere else? (Hint: Yes -- in the same building.)
EW's sister publication Time went with a topless Tom Cruise/Nicole Kidman cover for its July 5, 1999, issue promoting Eyes Wide Shut. The him-and-her cover lines pretty much match, as do the his-and-hers skin tones. Reps for EW didn't respond yet for requests for comment about whether the '99 cover was any kind of influence or inspiration or if the editors were even aware of Time's work -- le scandale! OK, not really. Anyway, collect the whole derivative set. [Click for bigger.]

Oh my, I don't have enough anticipation as I drag home from a miserable week of work awaiting my copy of EW, but now I have additional excitement of guessing which of the identical 3 covers will spill from my mail crevice!
"The him-and-her cover lines pretty much match, as do the his-and-hers skin tones"
.....as do the his-and-hers sexuality questions.
Awesome.
Who cares? Both Movies are flops anyway...
How bad does the photoshop of Tom Cruise's face on someone else's body look?
I'm not sure why Entertainment Weekly felt the need to have these two on the cover naked. It's really a shame that a magazine has to resort to nudity to sell magazines. What message is this sending to our kids??
