This Week's Best TV: Michael J. Fox Plays Alex P. Cheatin' on The Good Wife
This week's finest TV is filled with guest-stars (Michael J. Fox, Cybill Shepherd, John Slattery) and chilling new developments (Improv on Dancing with the Stars! Gender wars on Survivor!). Don't worry, if worst comes to worst, you can comfort yourself with Community's "puppy parade."
Hawaii Five-0 [Monday CBS, 10 PM]
Tough week for Danny (Scott Caan): His ex-partner is discovered dead in a barbecue pit, and his gruesome end may be connected to a major drug ring and some corrupt police officers.
Dancing with the Stars [Monday ABC, 8 PM]
Prepare for hilarity: This week's "Instant Dance" challenge forces the contestants to learn a routine only so they can perform it to a randomly chosen song selected seconds before airtime. Will Jennifer Grey be so slick with her 50-year-old limbs when she suddenly has to tango to "The Ketchup Song"? Will Bristol Palin's paso doble skills survive when she has to sync up with a 19-minute Rammstein anthem?
The A-List: New York [Monday Logo, 10 PM]
Ryan has to manage a modeling shoot where the model is nervous about going topless. What, has she never met a real model like Austin? That's the only modeling he understands.
The Good Wife [Tuesday CBS, 10 PM]
Michael J. Fox guest-stars as a conniving lawyer who uses his illness to sway a jury; Alicia Florrick is not impressed. Meanwhile, Kalinda confronts an old friend who's sharing personal information about her.
Glee [Tuesday Fox, 8 PM]
Sam and Finn invent a way to control their urges, to the chagrin of Coach Beiste, and some of the glee clubbers begin to use it too. Can we expect a rendition of Janet Jackson's "Control"? Laura Branigan's "Self Control"? A devastating reworking of Madonna called "Repress Yourself"?
No Ordinary Family [Tuesday ABC, 8 PM]
Stephanie's parents become suspicious of the extraordinary family. And by the way, Stephanie's mother is the Cybill Shepherd. If you watch The Good Wife with Christine Baranski after this, it'll be like a Cybill reunion in your mind.
Survivor: Nicaragua [Wednesday CBS, 8 PM]
Marty and Jane continue to spar, and the immunity challenge pits the men and women against each other. Can Marty survive another week? Ugh, I hope not.
44th Annual CMA Awards [Wednesday ABC, 8 PM]
Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood host this thing. Whatever happens, just understand that it's forcing Modern Family off the air for a week. Think about that when Taylor Swift starts putzing around at the mic.
Community [Thursday NBC, 8 PM]
Annie's favorite pen goes missing -- Jeff starts a brigade to find it, but Abed and Troy just want to hang out at the puppy parade.
30 Rock [Thursday NBC, 8:30 PM]
Jack takes drastic measures to help a budding congressman (John Slattery!) and Liz gets a confidence boost from a perfect pair of jeans. Tracy and Jenna start on some madcap plans for a Golden Globe party too.
Vampire Diaries [Thursday CW, 8 PM]
Katherine's past is explored in (where else?) 1490 Bulgaria. Sounds decadent!
Supernanny [Friday ABC, 8 PM]
Jo helps an Arizona family with three rambunctious older kids and a new baby. Should be standard Supernanny fare, but now that Jo is leaving the show, take advantage of her overly costumed nanny flair while you still can.
Saturday Night Live [Saturday NBC, 10:30 PM]
Scarlett Johannson hosts with musical guest Arcade Fire. Hopefully neither stoops to Tom Waits covers.
