Watch Rachel Weisz, Jessica Biel and Eva Mendes Direct Short Films for Glamour
Well, here's something you probably didn't expect to see today: Three short films directed by Rachel Weisz, Jessica Biel and Eva Mendes, all done in conjunction with Glamour Reel Moments. The film series, which not surprisingly is inspired by Glamour readers' real life moments, has already drawn the likes of Demi Moore and Kate Hudson. But how did these three newcomers do?
Not bad! Pretty good, actually! For starters, these puppies are loonnggggg; you'll need about an hour to get through all three, but it will be time well spent if only because you'll get to experience three potentially blossoming filmmakers at their inception point. For my money, Weisz's The Thief is best -- a heartbreaking film co-starring Rosemarie DeWitt (Midge!) and Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom). Clearly the Oscar-winning star has learned a few tricks from longtime partner Darren Aronofsky.
As for the other two actresses-turned-directors: Mendes' California Romanza (featuring Christina Ricci, Kathy Najimy and Daniel Stern) is a fairly strong effort at broad, familial humor, while Biel does her best Ridley Scott impersonation in the wildly inventive Sodales. Check them out below.
