6 Questions Raised by Amy Sedaris' Chardonnay-Soaked Crafting Segment on the Today Show
In a Today Show segment on Tuesday featuring Amy Sedaris (who was in the studio to promote her new book Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People), Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb managed to out-crazy any Saturday Night Live parody of themselves. Seriously. Ahead, watch this latest NBC disaster, and take a moment to review some of the many questions raised by this boozy morning segment.
Herewith, six questions raised in Movieline's HQ after watching this clip:
1. Who drinks on morning shows?
2. What kind of news correspondent tells her guest, "I just want you to know, you're ridiculous."
3. How has the Today Show not organized a crossover episode with A&E's Intevention?
4. Would I rather be watching Kathie Lee Gifford slurring through her teleprompter lines while wearing a bonnet constructed out of trash or the drunken Ewoks disrupting another Halloween segment? (Answer: Drunken Ewoks)
5. Seriously, doesn't NBC have an HR department?
6. At this point, would a sober clip of Kathie Lee Gifford be more interesting than a drunken one? (Answer: Yes)

Uh, what are you talking about? I thought Sedaris was funny (as usual) and the segment was goofy and light (and wine is often involved). Sedaris has been on the show before.
I mean, if it WASN'T like this, it would have been disappointing.
This segment was the best ever ! Please invite Amy Sedaris back I will be watching.
