5 More Shows On Which President Barack Obama Should Appear

Sure, the economy isn't technically fixed, but why should that stop our Commander in Chief from making appearances on The View, Mythbusters and The Daily Show? Seriously, at this point, the amount of television cameos Barack Obama is making would even have Paul Lynde blushing. Considering the president seems to have some extra time on his hands, though, here are five more television shows that would benefit from an appearance by Barack Obama.

1.) Undercover Boss

You see, Obama is the headman in Washington and, perhaps, he has lost touch with what it was like to start out at the bottom. So in this hilarious new installment, Obama spends a week as a White House intern. Now, just like every other episode of Undercover Boss, everyone appearing on camera knows that this is not your everyday intern (in this case, the secret service agents are a tipoff), but they play along by forcing intern Obama to fetch coffee and make copies. Things get awkward when reports of a nuclear missile strike flash across television screens and Obama may have to break cover. After the commercial break, we discover that a staffer was just watching a DVD of The Day After.

2.) The Apprentice

It's unlikely that Obama would appear as a contestant on The Apprentice, because if there is a worse job than president, it would have to be working for Donald Trump. No, Obama's role would be allowing the candidates do a project for Obama -- like, say, stimulating the economy. The two teams would square off with their best attempts at jump starting the economy with the winner's plan actually being implemented because...well, why not at this point? Unfortunately, neither plan has Obama actually being president in 2013, so he can't recommend either. Trump immediately hires them all to work on his election campaign.

3.) Dancing With the Stars

This one is tricky considering the amount of time involved. Then again, it could be one-stop shopping for Obama. Come to think of it, if all of his television screen time is added up over the last few months, it probably far exceeds the amount of time he'd have to put in for a run on Dancing With the Stars. Of course, we already know how this is going to play out: Overwhelming hope and inspiration at the initial site of his dancing followed by, in the later weeks, crippling indecision when he tries to compromise The Charleston with The Electric Slide.

4.) X-Factor

Premiering in September of 2011, what better platform for Obama to announce his reelection campaign? Sure-to-be a ratings bonanza with the return of Simon Cowell to network television, Obama receives high praise after his stirring performance of "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Starship.

5.) Rules of Engagement

Honestly, I had no idea this show was still on the air until I saw David Spade on my television screen after How I Met Your Mother ended on Monday night. This is a show that could actually use the publicity from an Obama appearance, if only because no show that's been on for (looking it up...) four (!) seasons has ever been so ignored in the history of television. There's never been good buzz and there's never been bad buzz. How is this possible? When's the last time you read a Rules of Engagement recap or read an Outsourced-style, "This show is terrible"-type of piece? No television show needs an appearance by our president more. And just think of the adventures that Obama and Finch Russell will have.
