David O. Russell To Tackle Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Flick
You're David O. Russell and you've made some of the most idiosyncratic and intellectual movies of the last few decades. What's your next logical career step ? If you answered direct a live-action version of a video game, congratulations!
Yes, David O. Russell, the man who taught us it's okay to lick armpits and who gave us the gift of Lily Tomlin swearing up a storm has ditched the film version of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and has instead decided to helm a live-action version of the incredibly popular Uncharted game series. Uncharted is essentially Indiana Jones minus the Nazis, and while I'm a bit skeptical of video games turned into movies, it would be hard-pressed to be any worse than the cinematic abortion that was Indiana Jones and Something Something Crystal Skull.
Because this is the internet, I am required by Internet Law to say that the lead role can obviously only be played by Nathan Fillion. But I do fervently hope that the female lead is played by Lily Tomlin in a stunningly erotic tour-de-force. Fingers crossed, internet!

Fillion would be fantastic in this. It'll be Sam Worthington though.
Uncharted 2 is one of the best games Ive ever played. It screams hollywood movie but that means they will only screw it up. The only person I ever saw as the lead was Nathan Fillion. Other than him, they should cast an unknown.
Fillion could make this something worth watching.
It really bums me out these days that everything has to be represented through like ... eight different media. Uncharted is a quintessential GAME. The story is pretty cool when it's amplified by the puzzles you have to solve and the jungle you have to navigate, etc., but I really don't think it's worth adaptation.
Sure to be an amazing movie based on an amazing game based on a pastiche of amazing movies.
That probably came off as snarky, but I really am intrigued by this. Love the UC games, and David O. is such a glorious and talented trainwreck -- this has "favorite summer movie of 2012" written all over it for me.
Its Biz...i mean ShoBiz from da youngfellaz, thats a good hook. His punchlines are sick with it! Anyways after checking out your blog site I kept thinking of how much in common da youngfellaz music has with the stuff here.
