Get excited! A month after Lionsgate announced it would release Tyler Perry's For Colored Girls in time for Oscar consideration, I am thrilled to introduce the poster that will accompany the film through the awards season. Perry's film is the long-awaited (and title-truncated) adaptation of the Ntozake Shange play -- or "choreopoem," as it's generally referred to -- For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, with an ensemble including Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Thandie Newton, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine, Phylicia Rashad, Kimberly Elise and Anika Noni Rose.
