EXCLUSIVE: Movieline Debuts the New Poster for Tyler Perry's Oscar Hopeful For Colored Girls
Get excited! A month after Lionsgate announced it would release Tyler Perry's For Colored Girls in time for Oscar consideration, I am thrilled to introduce the poster that will accompany the film through the awards season. For someone who thinks Perry should have been nominated every year since The Family That Preys, this is what you'd call a watershed moment. Or maybe a tear-shed moment. Click through to see why.
Perry's film is the long-awaited (and title-truncated) adaptation of the Ntozake Shange play -- or "choreopoem," as it's generally referred to -- For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, with an ensemble including Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Thandie Newton, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine, Phylicia Rashad, Kimberly Elise and Anika Noni Rose. You've seen the trailer already (or at least you'd better have), you've visited the new site, and now here's the poster to plaster on your wall while waiting to see how this finally brings some diversity to a season that could desperately use it. Oscar Index update forthcoming...

Beautiful poster for what will surely be a mediocre film (as customary with all of Perry's films).
I concur, although I do hope Perry and the cast proves me wrong.
The teaser posers for almost all of Perry's movies are beautiful semi-abstract things. I anxiously await the oncoming PhotoShop disaster of digitally-applied actress heads the official poster is certain to be.
Where can I buy this poster.
Looking forward to this - although not sure when i'll get to see it in the UK. Also love the poster - would love to know who produced the illustration.
