TV Bites: Dancing with the Stars Finds Its 'Stars'
Also in this morning's TV Bites: Eddie Izzard returns to television... you will watch a show called Rich Christian Bitches... and more ahead.
· Stop me if you've heard this one before: Bristol Palin is going on Dancing with the Stars! Oh. Well, how about this: Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is going on Dancing with the... you knew that one, too? Jeez! Suffice it to say the "surprise" factor during last night's Dancing with the Stars cast announcement was lacking, but here's the list nonetheless: Michael Bolton, Brandy, Margaret Cho, Rick Fox, Jennifer Grey, David Hasselhoff, Florence Henderson, Kyle Massey, Palin, Audrina Patridge, The Situation and Kurt Warner. My money is on Jennifer Grey, for obvious reasons. [ABC Press Release]
· The United States of Tara has added the hilarious Eddie Izzard to the cast in a recurring role for season three. He'll play a "brilliant psychology professor" who becomes "fascinated" with Tara's Dissociative Identity Disorder. [Deadline]
· ABC, NBC and CBS are all in the running for the latest from super-producer Darren Star, hilariously titled Rich Christian Bitches. The proposed series -- based on the book of the same name by Kim Gatlin and to be written by Steel Magnolias' Robert Harling -- is described as "Desperate Housewives in Dallas," which means it can just as easily be described as "Dallas." Good luck, nets! Personally, I'm pulling for NBC. [Deadline]
· ABC Family has a new leader: Radio Disney executive Michael Riley replaces Paul Lee in the captain's seat. Lee, of course, left to run ABC. [Variety]
· TLC has ordered a sixth season of Say Yes to the Dress to air in February. You're welcome. [Variety]
