VIDEO: Was the Bossy, Glee-ful Opening Segment the Highlight of the Emmys?

fallon_emmy_glee_225.jpgHow about those Emmy Awards last night?! Despite having a giant middle chuck filled with boring boredom -- this just in: Temple Grandin won another award -- the show was briskly paced, loaded with surprises and really kinda fun. Part of the reason for this was Jimmy Fallon, who proved fairly adept at hosting, even if he should have dumped the unfunny Twitter introductions before they even started. No matter, though: The contact high produced by the ambitious, Glee-inspired "Born to Run" opening number more than made up for any later shortcomings. Ahead, watch the Movieline-approved best moment of the Emmy telecast. Take it away, Jimmy!

Oh, Emmy Awards. You had me at Jon Hamm's dancing... and Jorge Garcia's singing... and Tina Fey's fist-pumping... and -- aw, hell, who wants to watch that one more time?

This was pretty much the only part of the awards I watched. Thought it was great, but I am a sucker for all things "Glee" so I am biased. Fallon really seems to have found a bit of a niche with these music-inspired sketches; I still watch the clip of the "Glee" takeoff he did on his show with Amy Pohler when I need a laugh.
