Blockbuster Plans to File for Bankruptcy
I truly, sincerely apologize for this, but: Talk about late fees! Blockbuster has told Hollywood movie studios that they plan on filing for Chapter 11 next month with the hopes of restructuring a "crippling debt load of nearly $1 billion" and escaping the leases on at least 500 of their 3,425 stores. Guess I should return that copy of My Cousin Vinny before it's too late. [LAT]

I imagine you can just return My Cousin Vinny to bankruptcy judge Fred Gyynne with all the other "yutes"
If it wasn't for Blockbuster, I would've never trained my eyes to know the horror of pan & scan. A skill that, to this day, still makes me guffaw while watching "A Few Good Men" on Bravo.
Guess that "no late fees" gimmick they used a few years ago that encouraged morons to rent even more movies they didn't have time to see came back to bite them on the ass.
I'll miss the greasy fingerprints and scratch marks that rendered DVDs unreadable, rows of straight-to-video horror movies no one rented and always-empty shelves for current releases, and store clerks who had no idea where to find anything.
