Watch Conan O'Brien's Tonight Show Writers Apply For Minimum Wage Jobs
At least that's what this weekend's Emmy B-Roll had them doing. The writing staff of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien followed in the tradition of Best Variety Writing nominees by submitting a short clip to be shown during the Creative Arts Emmy Ceremony -- and theirs, of course, alluded to their collective unemployment following the NBC upheaval.
In the end, Conan's writers still lost to the Colbert Report, but at least they have some other jobs lined up for the fall, especially considering recent reports that Conan's writers are disgruntled after taking a massive pay cut at TBS. Watch the video below.

Conan? I don't get it! Exactly what does he bring to the table? With all the personality of a wet dishrag, about as funny as a screen door on a submarine, I fail to grasp the appeal he has with some people.
Since the article referenced Colbert, I say he fits nicely with Conan - except Colbert is egregiously annoying and self-aggrandized.
To complete the trifecta, though the article didn't reference Stewart, he is the 3rd in the trio that defies rational understanding re: popularity.
Late night television is dwindling to virtually zero in entertainment value. Where are Steve Allen and Johnny Carson when you need them?
o, o, I know this one: In a crypt?!?

I have to agree with you, saftgek. They say he's popular with young males, but nobody I know likes him. I could just never see what was so appealing about him. Some people threw a fit when they took him off the Tonight Show, but with such low ratings, there couldn't have been too many people watching him.
They should receive minimum wage as writers for Conan.
That's about how much they're worth.
