TV Bites: Jersey Shore's The Situation Gets Paid Millions
Also in this morning's TV Bites (if that headline didn't make you want to jump off a bridge): Conan O'Brien's writing staff isn't happy... Britney Spears and Glee may duet again... and more ahead.
· And you thought Snooki made too much money. According to THR, Jersey Shore "star" Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is on course to make upwards of $5 million in 2010. I won't bore you with specifics -- there's the much-publicized workout video, a book deal and various public appearances -- but just note that for season three of the hit MTV show, The Situation will make $60,000 per episode plus ratings bonuses. GTL, forever. (Splash) [THR]
· Bad news for Conan O'Brien. The ever-reliable Page Six reports that his writing staff is unhappy with the pay cuts they received with the move to TBS. Salary negotiations between the network and the Writers Guild are still ongoing. [NYP/Page Six]
· Glee executive producer Ryan Murphy can't help himself. He revealed that a return engagement for guest Britney Spears is not out of the question for future episodes. Of course not. [THR]
· Former House star Jennifer Morrison will guest on the new NBC show Chase during the sixth episode. [TV Guide]
· Mute button. ESPN personality (and semi-professional jerk) Jay Mariotti was arrested in Los Angeles on Saturday for suspicion of felony domestic assault following an early morning altercation with his girlfriend. The Around the Horn panelist was released on $50,000 bail. ESPN has yet comment on the matter. [LAT]
