Covert Affairs Picked Up For a Second Season

CovertAffairs120.jpgJust a few episodes into its run, USA Network has already ordered a second season of its female spy series Covert Affairs, which hit a program high of nearly 5.5 million viewers this week. For perspective, over 2 million more people watched Piper Perabo karate kick herself out of a sticky situation than watched Mad Men's season four premiere. Does that mean Piper should start picking out her favorite dress for that Covert Affairs Barbie you're all hoping to collect next Christmas? [Deadline]

Wow, is this show that good? How did it get such a strong following? I've never even seen any ads for it.

It's not bad. I've seen the first two episodes thus far. Plays fast and loose with facts regarding intelligence and covert ops. But Perabo's character is fairly strong and charming, and she has great presence. The tone is snappy and often witty, only occasionally dragged by over-seriousness.
Storylines (thus far) aren't too outlandish/not-believable. Good supporting cast, too.
I only wished they shot it in DC. Having lived there for 10 years, seeing Toronto substituting in external shots is a little disappointing.
