What's On: Cooling Down in Cleveland

The first season of Hot in Cleveland's old-timey sitcom ways is coming to a close tonight as we learn a bunch of information about one of the leading femmes. Other viewing options include power vetoing on CBS, Padma-pleasing on Bravo, and pseudo-lesbian drama on Encore.

Hot in Cleveleand [TV Land, 10 PM]

A tornado forces the ladies into Elka's (Betty White) basement, where they discover plenty of historic stuff about the elderly landlady. Here's hoping Jane Leeves or Wendie Malick stumbles upon Elka's contract to write two books about it all.

Top Chef [Bravo, 10 PM]

The chefs enjoy a little spyjinks when they have to use items in a "mystery box" to make their dishes. Gail Simmons is expected to wear a deerstalker cap while Tom Colicchio will smoke a pipe. CIA director Leon Panetta is among the restaurantgoers in this week's challenge.

Big Brother [CBS, 8 PM]

Power of Veto week! Or as I prefer to think of it: A No-Masturbation Zone.

Fried Green Tomatoes [Encore, 8 PM]

Jessica Tandy, Mary Louise Parker, Kathy Bates, Mary Stuart Masterson, and even a bit of Chris O'Donnell star in this 1989 tearjerker about old tales of "friendship" in a small southern tale. Onetime Match Game panelist Fannie Flagg adapted the screenplay from her book Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, and the lesbian action therein was much less discreet. Still, the cast is stellar in this platonic re-rendering.
