Hollywood Ink: January Jones Flies X-Men: First Class
Also among today's gotta-know trade developments: Yet another Bob Marley biopic is in the works... J.J. Abrams brings some unlucky kids out of the closet... Scott Speedman stands in for Channing Tatum... and more.
· It'd be so easy to make a dumb joke here saying January Jones joined the X-Men: First Class cast as telepathic mutant Emma Frost because God knows she doesn't have anything to do on Mad Men this season and a girl's got to work, but... Well, a girl does have to work. [Deadline]
· The 321st rumored Bob Marley biopic is reportedly in development, this time with British director Jenny Ash planning to retell the London-based, cancer-riddled, adulterous last year of the reggae icon's life. Related: Marley estate lawyers holding on line one. [Deadline]
· J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot are developing 7 Minutes in Heaven from an idea by frequent Lost director Jack Bender. The story concerns a pair of teens who disappear into a closet to "as part of the titular game" (I guess they make out in this game? I have no idea; I was raised Amish) only to come out and all their friends are dead. Dum dum dummmm. I would think that really saves on embarrassment, though? What's the problem? [THR]
· Scott Speedman will replace Channing Tatum in the vaguely fact-based The Vow, appearing opposite Rachel McAdams as a husband whose wife can't remember him or their marriage following a car accident. SPOILER ALERT: He wins her back. [THR]
· Quantum of Solace screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade have made a deal to develop a new thriller about an American anthropologist, an accused terrorist, and the "Tuareg tribes of Sahara West Africa, a nomadic people whose uranium rich land has become a flashpoint for both energy companies and terrorists." Of course. [Deadline]

Comments
Jones could work as Emma, she can certainly do bitch/ice queen, but she will need a hint of fun/sexy.
Has it occurred to all you writers out there that you can't keep writing "SPOILER ALERT" as a joke, because what happens when it's a real spoiler alert and you're the boy who cried wolf? You've spoiled something for us, that's what. Or else we stopped reading. So, please, will you stop? Thank you.
Speedman is replacing Chan in McAdam's heart (or at least trying to), but he's not taking over the role of the husband. That's still pure Tatumy goodness.
