TV Bites: JetBlue Guy Steven Slater Gets a Reality TV Offer
Also in this morning's TV Bites: Jenny Lumet and William Monahan dive into HBO's pool of talent... ABC renews Wipeout... and more ahead.
· It was only a matter of time: Steven Slater -- the JetBlue flight attendant who became a cause célèbre when he took his job and shoved it last week -- could wind up with his own reality show. Slater has been offered the chance to host a program "in which various disgruntled workers quit their jobs in extravagant ways." Imagine the fun Steven Soderbergh could have with that plot twist! [TMZ]
· Here are two future HBO shows that you're going to love: William Monahan -- the Oscar-winning screenwriter of The Departed -- will write and executive producer Keys to the City, an adaptation of Joel Kostman's short story book about a professional locksmith in New York City. Meanwhile Jenny Lumet -- who was snubbed for writing Rachel Getting Married -- will write The Three Weissmanns of Westport, based on Cathleen Schine's novel about a recently divorced woman reconnecting with her grown daughters. Former Paramount Film Group president John Lesher set both projects up at the network. [Deadline]
· Because you care: ABC has renewed Wipeout. The less said about this the better. [THR]
· The Situation might not be headed to Bones, but Antonio Sabato, Jr. will. He'll play a "guido bouncer," because what tribute to Jersey Shore would be complete without one of those. [TV Guide]
· Mandy Moore was in the season finale of Grey's Anatomy last year, and she'll be in the sixth episode this year. Hooray! [TV Guide]
