NFL Offensive Lineman Offended By True Blood 'Barrage of Homosexuality'
True Blood has been teasing Sunday's gay vampire love scene for weeks, but Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Todd Herremans was not a fan of the buildup. "Caught up on Trueblood," he tweeted yesterday, adding, "Not a fan of how they get u hooked w/ 2 seasons then bring on barrage of homosexuality." Needless to say, before Lafayette could roll his eyes and snap, "Hooker, please," Herremans quickly apologized: "After speaking with Eagles management, I realize that my tweet earlier was insensitive and tasteless, and for this, I deeply apologize." HAHAHAHA..."after speaking with Eagles management"...No doubt, idiot.
Amazing how fast the 'phobes apologize when their boss smacks em upside the head.
Cause there's nothing more hetero than men smacking each other on the ass or a quarterback with his hands under a squatting center's butt.
"barrage of homosexuality"
I don't want to see that either.
Um... is he sure he was watching it the other seasons? What a douche.
I don't consider myself a homophobe at all (many homophobes probably don't but that's not my point) and I was a little surprised how far those scenes went last episode. Not just the gay scenes, but also the one with Sookie showing just about everything. A lot of the episodes this year are raising the bar quite high.
Don't worry Todd, gays are faced with a barrage of hetrosexuality every day, yet somehow manage to cope.
Todd has a right to his opinion, just as much as someone who would be offended by a 'barrage of Christianity' making it unto a dramatic series. Yet somehow, I doubt Eagles management would be so quick to make him apologize for that.
The homosexual community clearly has better PR media managers then does the christian community.
Megan Fox never had to apologize for requesting Megatron destroy the entire Midwest. She wasn't kidding.
Seriously John, how dense are you? You are aware of how Christian themes and tropes are persistent in a myriad of ways throughout mass-media entertainment. I mean, the stories, lessons, characters, etc. are absolutely embedded from centuries ago all the way up through to the television shows, novels and films of today.
This BS idea about how religious people are somehow more denigrated and slandered than homosexuals is about as ignorant as you can get. Please think and take a better look around you before you shoot off at the mouth. You have NO idea what homosexuals are dealing/have dealt with if you can make a statement like that.
I like how he can complain about homoeroticism but not the other explicit sex scenes. If he wants to pretend homosexuality doesn't exist he can just lock himself in a dark empty room .
Engage brain before opening tweet.
“Not a fan of how they get u hooked w/ 2 seasons then bring on barrage of homosexuality."
Sounds like my dating life, except for the part that's complaining.
For a serious reply, was he actually not aware of the parallels between vampire rights in the show and gay rights in the real world? Does he not listen to Fresh Air for christsakes?!
What? Oh. Yeah. Football player. Gotcha.
Oh pls, it's not like they showed a barrage-a-trois or anything.
Should this goof have said anything? Nah. You'd think that someone with a college degree would be smart enough to keep that particular sentimnent private - but no one ever accused professional athletes of having an abundance of common sense.
But - as a life-long - non-Christian - heterosexual - I can inderstand his point. There is just something - and I'll be honest - I can't really put a word to it - it's more of a physical response - to seeing 2 guys kiss that just puts us off. To get totally juvenille with it - it's the "Ewwwwwww Yuck" factor. Hetero guys are wired through both training and - I think to a smaller extent - buy their nature as heteroes - to react that way (and o - I have no studies to back that up - just my experience as one of those heteroes)
Is it a horrible thing for 2 guys to kiss? Nope. I'm just trying to explain the almost Pavlovian response that the vast majority of Hetero guys have to seeing that kind of thing.
And yeah - in the last few episodes - True Blood did ramp up the homo eroticism - with the Lafayette/Jesus almost hook-up and the Eric and Talbot seduction - that and the King/Talbot stuff - but in the end - who cares - it's part of the much larger story - so live with it.
When did Vampires become real? So when a thing that doesn't exist has sex with a woman it's ok but when a thing that doesn't exist has sex with a man it's not.
Okay, so I was a little taken aback by this story when I first saw it... imho... if you don't like it don't watch it... even before the opening credits role, there are parental codes... in most, if not all, episodes of TB there is Strong Adult Content and Nudity... which I know does not state whether it is m/m content or f/m content... and it shouldn't have too... I personally didn't see or hear anyone complain when Jason Stackhouse was having an "Adult Content Moment" with two girls.
It's too bad that if one's opinion does not follow the gay agenda, one is considered an idiot. When did I lose my right to have an opinion? When it wasn't the same as yours?
LoL. It's appropriate that he's an offensive lineman.
I love how he threw in the "Eagles management" line..
Beyotch please. One episode featured three, THREE pairs of full frontal titties and this cat has the GALL to say that there's a "barrage" of homosexuality?!? Does he even know what "barrage" means?
From a scientific point of view, and in an evolutionary sense, homosexuality is an anomaly. Two males and two females cannot progress a species. To constantly present homosexuality as an equal to heterosexuality is ludicrous. Now there is no reason anyone should be judged for their sexuality, but give us a break; to say that a homosexual HAS to put up with the heterosexual world is absolutely comical. Left alone and without a heterosexual, the homosexual would perish. Heterosexuals DO NOT need homos. But heterosexuals are essential; for without a heterosexual union the homosexual species dies.
Herremans or whatever your name is:
2001 called. They want to introduce you to a little HBO show called "Six Feet Under."
lol
No wonder he's so sensitive about the subject. Part of his job is spanking other mens behinds and grabbing them and wrestling them to the ground, and his last name sounds like "Hairy Mens".
