NFL Offensive Lineman Offended By True Blood 'Barrage of Homosexuality'
True Blood has been teasing Sunday's gay vampire love scene for weeks, but Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Todd Herremans was not a fan of the buildup. "Caught up on Trueblood," he tweeted yesterday, adding, "Not a fan of how they get u hooked w/ 2 seasons then bring on barrage of homosexuality." Needless to say, before Lafayette could roll his eyes and snap, "Hooker, please," Herremans quickly apologized: "After speaking with Eagles management, I realize that my tweet earlier was insensitive and tasteless, and for this, I deeply apologize." I'm not mad at Todd Herremans for his first "controversial" tweet. I'm mad at him for his scary second one. If you have an opinion where you do not like something because its too homosexual, so what? Liberals are supposed to support freedom of speech, equal opportunities, self expression, blah blah. Why is it when someone that does not have a left winged opinion, you liberals suddenly forget your own values of tolerance and acceptance? Do NOT judge this man about his values when you do not even know your own! If you love the gay stuff in True Blood, no one is going to make that news and have people bash you over the internet as a result. All of True Blood is graphic. Sex, violence, drugs. All excessive and graphic. Which is why I enjoy it. Personally, True Blood goes overboard with it all because its a cash cow and can get away with it. If you have a problem with it, that's why its aired on HBO. You do not have to watch it. At the same time, I have LOTS of reasons why True Blood gets, how do I say it...annoying, and I express those opinions via the web or with my friends even though I STILL watch and enjoy the show. This does not change the fact that none of you would care twice about those reasons. So what if Todd does not like the graphic homosexual nature that the show has amp'd up this season? Let him be "liberal" and share his opinion. And if you do not like how he feels, you don't have to follow his tweet. All this is so reversible and excusable if you all would just quit being whinny, sensitive, two tongued, hypocrites and accepted other peoples opinions because they are a human who are allowed to process whatever they want however they want...or simply just don't go where opinions of others that may offend you are. Its all too easy to change or fix this by you stopping YOUR hate of others which is still dividing our country over these issues.
none of which involves a cock in ass. quit making non gay things gay or is that what your people do?
Seriously Grey, how dense are you? Before YOU shoot off at the mouth, why don't you properly absorb the content you are replying to? The poster in which your retard ass responded to is in NO way suggesting Christian themes don't exist if media. He is simply saying if Todd had tweeted "I don't like the 700 club bc its a barrage of Christianity" that no one would have made a big deal. And before any of you half wits chime in, the 700 club/Christianity was a purposely playful joke. The poster's whole point is that the only reason this is a big deal is because the gay media PR is on the money when anything that is not rainbows and leather love appears in an opinion vs. how Christian PR would have reacted, or even how the masses foolishly gain opinion about this. The fact Todd's opinion was aimed at homosexuality and his quick apology that sounded like the NFL player copied and pasted it from the gay media PR email they sent him informing how upset they were with his 1st amendment right simply illustrates the expedience and sensitivity the gay media PR or the media in general are to this subject.
Wait... so your idea of "free speech" is that you, or someone else can say whatever they please, and everyone else should say NOTHING about it? That's not what free speech means. It's simply protection from govt. restricting speech (and even that has limits). But for the sake of argument, let's say your interpretation is correct. Would you not be just as hypocritical for not allowing those opposed to his view point to use their free speech to disagree with his opinion?
Newsflash: there is no gay cabal making people change their opinions. He was told by Eagles management that his tweet was offensive and he should apologize. NFL teams are BUSINESSES and this lineman is an EMPLOYEE of said business. That business wants to keep ALL their fans happy, not just the straight ones (yes this may come as a bit of a shock, gays DO watch football). They made a business decision to minimize the impact of his statement. Yes, if he had offended Christians in the same manner, Eagles management would've told him the same and ordered him to apologize because SURPRISE! Christians watch football too!
Wasn't aware the 50+% of women who reported having anal sex were gay? Also.. psst... homosexual doesn't mean anal sex. First, not all gay guys have sex, and lesbians, well if you can't figure that out your hopeless. Further, homosexuality, like heterosexuality is an attraction to a sex. For instance, someone can go their whole lives and never have sex with someone of the same sex, but if they had a desire to, or felt an attraction towards a same sex member that extended beyond feelings of friendship... they're homosexual.
That's exactly what Caleb is saying Jason. Makes no sense does it?
"When did I lose my right to have an opinion?"
You tell me. You certainly seem to have one. It's right there on my screen. Did a secret government agency come take away your right to have an opinion? Was it the same one that invoked the first amendment to prevent "Dr." Laura from saying "nagger" eleven times on the radio? I remember when that didn't happen. It sure was horrible how she wasn't allowed to say "nagger" eleven times, and it's just as horrible that you were prohibited from having an opinion and coming here to not post about it which didn't lead to me not posting this comment.
Truly, the first amendment and personal heterosexual Jesus freedom are dead.
Nagger.
Would there have been the same complaints had it been some girl-on-girl action?
Me thinks not.
no. you are correct. opinion away! but i bet no one is going to make it "breaking news" and force you to apologize or second guess, or make jokes or call you an idiot or threaten your job because your opinion is pro-gay. THAT IS THE POINT! and neither should Todd because of his. its sad that people in our country are fearful to exercise their first amendment right over reprisal from liberal media through slander and law suits, or the threat of them anyways, that hurts their means of living. if he broke a law governing free speech, then there is a reason. if not, call him what ever you want. just save him the pressure that causes him to have to change his opinion. its 2010 gay America, quit acting like a victim.
are you to scarred to even "nigger"? i mean u r "". we got that u rnt the one saying it. but i bet if u r scarred to say it, considering the whole censorship topic this post follows with liberal vigilance.
