· CBS has set its own due date: The Talk will premiere in daytime on October 18.

· Michael Bay has met Edgar Wright, but did the former know he'd once been parodied by the latter? "I said, 'Oh, I'm Edgar, I directed Hot Fuzz," Wright recalled to Coming Soon. "He was like, 'Right, right, funny... that's with the guy from Mission: Impossible III right?' That's how he described that film, so I was thinking, 'I don't know whether he saw it or not.'"

· Barry Levinson will direct the sci-fi thriller Isopod. Let's hope it's no Sphere.

· A New York Times profile of celebrity chef Guy Fieri mentions his "Jackass Roll," filled with pulled pork, avocado and French fries. "A lot of people who like sushi don't really like raw fish or seaweed," he said. "So I make what they do like." That's funny, because a lot of people who like pizza also don't really like bread, cheese, or pepperoni, so I've made them a flattened twinkie with hot wing sauce on it.
