Lost DVD Epilogue Leaks Online, Delivers Some Answers
Well, would you look at that. The much-anticipated Lost epilogue, "The New Man In Charge," isn't due out for another two weeks -- the season six DVD doesn't hit stores until Aug. 24 -- but thanks to the magic of the Internet, it's already available to watch. The good ladies at Jezebel have unearthed the (sadly unembeddable) 11-minute clip, and it's... well, click ahead to find out. Spoilers, naturally.
As the sneak peak promised, the Lost epilogue answers one question right off: The Dharma food drops, which still occurred because the unmanned Lamp Post Station continued to send out coordinates and faxes. OK, sure. But who paid the Dharma electric bill? And what follows? Well, a lot of Michael Emerson eye-buggin' misdirection, some meta dialogue from the confused Dharma employees ("You can't just walk out of here -- we deserve answers!") and a final video from Dr. Pierre Chang.
There's meat to be had there -- the Hurley-bird from season one gets explained, as does the reason why women couldn't have children on the island (something Movieline already figured out) -- but the fun doesn't truly begin until Ben heads to see Walt. Yep, Walt.
Anyway, it's all perfectly Lost-ian and it leaves even more questions in its wake -- what magical powers does the Dharma candy bar contain?! -- but this really is the final chapter on Lost. Interesting note: The epilogue wasn't written by Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, but instead by series writers Melinda Tsu Taylor, Graham Roland and Jim Galasso. Nice of the show masterminds to farm off the last crucial bit of series mythology to their underlings.

Dude! It's not the full epilogue; it's only three minutes and twenty-nine seconds of footage! Not cool, man.
Pretty sneaky Ben.

that was part really cool and part kind of creepy...Hurley seemed kind of menacing and weird.
It would have been even cooler if they'd done a whole 42 minute long epilogue.
There is no way in hell I am devoting 11 minutes to watching this when I am busy trying to get back THE SIX GODDAMN YEARS YOU STOLE FROM ME DAMON CUSE
How about a whole season.
Another dissatisfied viewer. (Count me in, too.)
