What's On: Louie is King at FX

louisck225.jpgThe executives at FX raised trumpets to their mouths and unfurled a scroll of good news today, including the renewal of FX's Louie. The Louis CK comedy has a new episode tonight, and you may prefer it over the fire-juggling antics going on in NBC primetime.

America's Got Talent [NBC, 9 PM]

It's the last week of showcases for the 48 competing acts. Twelve more of them will strut, set themselves on fire, glow in the dark, and make Piers Morgan weep. Watch so you can start wishing for Idol's return.

Rachel Zoe Project [Bravo, 10 PM]

The Starbucks-attached stylist returns (along with her adorably funny assistant Brad) with another season of celebrity woes. Tonight, Rachel works on a photoshoot for Demi Moore, who does not come with her own Photoshopper. Trouble.

Louie [FX, 11 PM]

Mr. CK's family troubles flare up, and his brother makes a strange request. As it was just announced today, Louis CK's series is returning for season two, meaning we can watch this show without anxiously hoping everyone else "gets it."

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory [Disney, 9 PM]

Johnny Depp takes over Gene Wilder's role in this TIm Burton retelling of the Roald Dahl's classic children's book. It doesn't compare to the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but Danny Elfman adds rambunctious edge to the candy-colored festivities with his rock soundtrack, and Depp's eccentric performance makes you wonder if Willy Wonka's life was ruined at a young age by, say, a dubious babysitter.
