The Bang Bang Club Trailer: Ryan Phillippe and Taylor Kitsch are the Sexiest War Photographers Ever
What happens when you cast two of Hollywood's prettiest actors -- Ryan Phillippe and Taylor Kitsch -- as hard-bitten war photographers chronicling impoverished black South Africans? With The Bang Bang Club, we're about to find out.
While I'm much more likely to imagine the two actors in front of the camera -- and Phillippe looks a leeeeetle different than the real-life shutterbug he's playing -- it's hard to get much of a read on this trailer, which spans three minutes yet has no dialogue whatsoever. I feel like I've rented a VHS tape from Sony Pictures Classics and the coming attractions are trying to hide the fact that they're foreign and subtitled.
Still, Bang Bang premieres next month at Toronto, so maybe we'll get a better sense of it at that point. Until then, enjoy the pretty pictures and pretty men until we can find out if there's anything more to the movie than that.

Worst trailer I have seen in a long, long, long time. Three minutes of what? One preening indie number and then whan-bam, thank you ma'am, we get The Jean Genie and nary a whit of characterization or dilemma. Just repetitive shots of photojournos taking shots of tequila and scenes of mild mayhem. Include me well out. Far out. In out (Bowie references ad infinitum)
WOW! Now this is news. Actors tend to be good looking men, or women. The next time a Clooney or Pitt or Depp movie comes out I'll be waiting for a similar comment from you.
