TV Bites: Lizzy Caplan Doesn't Care About Your Band
In today's other TV Bites: Terry O'Quinn finds his first post-Lost role... Law & Order: Los Angeles enrolls another cast member... Jennifer Grey is in the House... and more ahead.
· Here's hoping Lizzy Caplan's next cable series lasts slightly longer than her last. Free from her loyalties to Party Down, the actress will topline the Will Ferrell-Adam McKay produced I Don't Care About Your Band for HBO. Band -- a memoir by Julie Klausner -- chronicles the dating life of an oversexed 20-something with plenty of Carrie Bradshaw-like naval gazing. But fewer Cosmos. [Deadline]
· From Locke to Lifetime: Terry O'Quinn will star in Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story, a telefilm about a mother (Taraji P. Henson) who tries to rescue her son after he gets abducted by his biological father. O'Quinn would play the head of a charity organization who helps her, but in a third-act twist turns into a black pillar of smoke. [E!]
· Law & Order: Los Angeles has cast veteran actor Corey Stoll (most recently in Salt) as Skeet Ulrich's partner, the toughly named Tomas "TJ" Jaruszalski. TJ is a Los Angeles native who hates celebrities, has an active social life and likes long walks on the beach. The last one isn't real, but you get the point. [TV Guide]
· Clayne Crawford has signed up for Alan Ball's next HBO drama, All Signs of Death. You might remember Crawford from his stint on 24 this past season as Katee Sackhoff's teeth-sucking, no good boyfriend. [EW]
· Here's guessing Jennifer Grey won't have the time of her life on House. She's scheduled to guest star next season as the mother of a sick patient. Expect Dr. Gregory House to put her in a corner, repeatedly. [EW]
