Hollywood Ink: Steve Carell, Wolf Man
Also in today's edition of Hollywood Ink: Another aspiring mutant joins X-Men: First Class... Breaking Dawn adds a little more class... and Brett Ratner is attracted to Unknowns.
· Let's just make this fast: Steve Carell is attached to a DreamWorks comedy called Raised by Wolfs. No one knows what it's about; Carell will probably drop out before it gets made. We'll have it back here with new vague, tentative hype in four to six months. [THR]
· For only the third time, Matthew Vaughn has dared to cast outside the Movieline Verge Alumnus Pool for X-Men: First Class, adding Twilight's bloodsucker baddie Edi Gathegi as the "first bi-racial mutant" Darwin. He's capable of "reactive evolution," which I presume to mean he can breathe even when the script sucks the air out of the story. High-five, Edi. [Deadline]
· Speaking of Twilight, Lee Pace is rumored to be in negotiations for Breaking Dawn, in which he'd appear as "tall, nomadic vampire" Garrett. Best part: The role includes a "leather thong" -- though not where you'd expect or maybe even like, alas. More at the link; take your grain of salt first. [E!]
· Brett Ratner acquired the rights to The Unknowns, a comics series about a young woman who discovers she once led the elite team of the the title -- but has since had her memories erased. Ratner would produce and is on the lookout for a director. I say give it to Refn. [Variety]

Comments
Considering each subsequent entry into the Twilight franchise is worse than the previous one Breaking Dawn should be all kinds of dreadful.
Think about it: Aren't ALL mutants bi-racial?
