Buzz Break: The Dan Aykroyd Comeback Begins Now

2149_763738345.jpg· You may say the most notable thing about the Yogi Bear poster is the debut of the film's CG characters, but I say it's the fact that Dan Aykroyd is first-billed above the title. Click through for a closer look, as well as more Buzz Break.

· Steve Coogan is joining the cast of My Idiot Brother, starring Paul Rudd.

· Meanwhile, Old Spice pitchman Isaiah Mustafa has been added to Horrible Bosses, where he'll be playing a cop (a very manly one, presumably).

· Chris Tucker owes the IRS over $10 million in back taxes. Damn.

· Will Sue Sylvester ever expand her Glee wardrobe? "I did this photo shoot for Entertainment Weekly in which they made me a ball gown out of a tracksuit," Jane Lynch told Vulture, "though they never actually ended up running the pictures. I thought it'd be great if Sue ended up wearing one of those to the prom. I think we had them sent to wardrobe, so we'll see!"

    Bear Observations:
-- Recall Aykroyd in "Loose Cannons" butchering various television voices and you get the sense of what we'll be in for.
-- Justin Timberlake as Boo-Boo? Since the character has a voice that will not even closely resemble J.T.'s, why drop money on a big name for the role?
-- Considering how fake they look can we assume they are stretched out on astroturf?
-- All the sandwiches and apples have bites taken out that are vastly smaller than their ursine mandibles, so can we assume they attacked campers during their meals?
-- The appearance of utensils is not an anomaoly; if they can fasten a bowtie and a windsor knot with ther paws, then a fork will be no problem.
-- This Christmas, gingham is the new plaid!

I think there's a mistake on the poster. I'm sure I read that JT was playing Cindy Bear.

Aykroyd stinks. His last good starring role was Blues Bros. (the original, not the horrifying sequel). I guess he was ok in bit parts in Driving Miss Daisy and Grosse Point Blank....

  • 1. The reasoning behind your second bulletpoint is because with a name like that attached, they hope to draw in more viewers. Seeing as how these types of movies have been a travesty that at first brought in good bucks - but have since gone downwards in the BO - they'll take all the help they can get.
    2. I would have loved to read your thoughts when Marmaduke was on its way. You have hilarious thoughts.
    3. My question about the movie is this: Is Dan going to at least TRY and sound like the original Yogi? I can't imagine making this movie without that voice - which is one of the most memorable things about the character.
