New Transformers Set Footage: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Has the Right Hair-Billowing Stuff

I don't know when or why I became so interested in Transformers 3's conquest of Chicago, but there undoubtedly is a transfixing quality to these videos that keep emerging from the set -- especially this one after the jump. Say what you will about Michael Bay's tonal and thematic incoherence: When it comes to devastating a city with paratroopers, gunfire, car detonations, bomb blasts, and getting his Victoria's Secret model/actress's hair billowing just right, the guy's got vision to spare.

Now if only we could do something about that golf cart. In any case, this video (idling quietly at YouTube since Friday) is one of the most sweeping yet of the action on the Chicago set: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley makes several appearances and doesn't seem to call Bay Hitler once, while Shia LaBeouf does the run/duck/look cool/repeat routine you've seen a million times.

Amusingly, the videographer here credits RHW as "Mikaela Banes" -- Megan Fox's old role -- when as far as I know, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and others have announced her character's name as Carly. So either this is breaking, definitive news, or just more awkward hype, but either way, it really is kind of logistically staggering in parts. But don't take my word for it. [via STFE]

Good to know the military still uses small arms to take down the Decepticons. If the first two films proved one thing, it's that giant intergalactic robot aliens cannot stand small arms fire.

Never shown: the smart soldier that takes off in the opposite direction, rather than pepper an 8 story tall living robot with tiny, tiny specks of metal, in scale.
