Has Glee Finally Cast Kurt's Love Interest?
Less than 24 hours after Ryan Murphy announced to a Comic-Con audience that Glee will be tackling the first ever Prom King & King relationship on television next season, it seems that the Fox series may have finally cast Kurt's boyfriend. After the jump, Movieline theorizes why the show's newest addition, Chord Overstreet, will most likely be playing Kurt's better half.
Deadline is reporting that after a wide talent search, Glee has cast iCarly's Chord Overstreet in the recurring role of "Sam, a McKinley high school athlete who starts off as Finn (Cory Monteith)'s protégé but becomes his competition." Sam will be introduced in the second season premiere on Sept. 21. Now, follow along with Movieline's reasoning as to why Sam is probably Kurt's boyfriend:
· Back in January, Ryan Murphy revealed that he was adding three recurring roles to the season two cast, including Kurt's significant other. So far, Glee has already announced that John Stamos and Charice would join the cast in recurring capacities.
· In the same statement, Murphy explained that he was completing a nationwide search for the perfect boyfriend for Kurt. Overstreet was cast after a wide talent search.
· It later leaked that Kurt's boyfriend will be a member of the McKinley High football team and if Sam is a high school athlete/protégé of Finn's, he is probably on the football team... unless Finn joins the water polo team next season.

He's too adorable for football which probably means that he is going to play his boyfriend I'm pretty sure it's also been realeased that Kurt's boyfriends name will be Sam... sooo YAY!

I think it would have been better for Kurt, to "befriend" someone on the football team first, than to have an instant relationship. One of the most dynamic choices would have been the Football Bully who "slushies" everybody and bully's Kurt and all the Glee Guys as being Homos. It would have been interesting for Kurt to be present to discover the football player carrying around a bunch of "bodybuilder" magazines or "male physique" magazines only to be told "not to tell anyone, or else". Indicating that maybe the bullying comes from taking out his own inner torture on those he doesn't want to be compared to or those he can't relate to. In which Kurt, can develop a relationship with him to address this topic that MANY athletes deal with. Not just on TV.
