Megamind Comic-Con Panel: Will Ferrell in Face Paint, Jonah Hill Defending Mel Gibson
It's the first big movie panel at Comic Con 2010 and Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, and Jonah Hill braved the unseasonably moist and misty weather of San Diego to show the assorted nerdlingers of the world footage from their new animated 3D movie Megamind...and come to Mel Gibson's defense?
The movie looked remarkably like Despicable Me, down to the focus of the villains and the harsh, geometrical look of the characters. But Will Ferrell (dressed and painted up as his titular bright blue character) and his cast had some great zingers, completely unrelated to the movie. And they even brought a special surprise guest...co-star Brad Pitt! In cardboard cut-out form!
Some choice quotes:
Tina Fey, when asked who her nemesis is: "Betty White is my nemesis. She and I will fight in a ball of fire, live on pay-per-view."
Jonah Hill, before walking off the stage in a huff: "I just want to come out and officially support Mel Gibson."
Returning to the stage moments later: "I actually read what Mel has said, and I don't support Mel at all. Except for the fact that the Jews killed Jesus. That's just a fact, I'm sorry."
Will Ferrell, after the 3D footage has rolled: "I wasn't wearing the glasses, but fortunately I'd be huffing glue in the bathroom for the last hour, so I saw like TRIPLE what you saw."
Jonah Hill, on his most memorable acting experience: "During the sleeping bag scene in Superbad, Michael Cera was masturbating the entire time. And that was shot over an entire day and a half.
Comments
What a bizarre comment by Jonah Hill. Maybe if I heard him say it i would catch the inflections that would make it seem like he's kidding but reading it on screen it just comes off nasty. ....and I know the guy's Jewish.
LOL Jonah Hill. I mean, it's funny, but... Kind of unnecessary? Is Mel Gibson involved in this in any way? Why bring it up to begin with?
