The Company Men Trailer Offers Everything But the Credits
What is it with fall movies starring Ben Affleck? If you thought that trailer for The Town gave away the entire movie, allow me to introduce you to the just-released trailer for The Company Men, which gives away pretty much everything. Want to see this movie in two-minutes-and-thirty seconds? Take a look after the jump.
Written and directed by veteran television producer John Wells, The Company Men features an all-star cast -- Affleck, Chris Cooper, Tommy Lee Jones, Kevin Costner -- dealing with the ramifications of being downsized in a crappy economy. Affleck and Cooper get laid off; Jones, still employed, tries to make things right from his corporate perch; and Costner (with a Julianne Mooreian Boston accent), builds houses and teaches Affleck that money isn't everything. There's redemption, heartbreak, acceptance, family bonding and good ol' fashioned American sticktoitiveness. Wallow in an emotional score and enjoy.
It looks good -- and was Movieline-approved when it screened at Sundance as better than Up in the Air -- but why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? In this economy, every penny counts.
VERDICT: Already purchased.

In fairness, if they didn't show the movie has a happy ending, people would probably just look in the mirror rather than watch the film. Same story, just cheaper.
Can John Wells write us out of the recession?
