Hayden Panettiere Doesn't Actually Hate Scream 4

It's probably a good thing that Scream 4 hasn't been in the news lately, since the last time it was, director Wes Craven and star co-star Hayden Panettiere were not-so-subtly complaining about the production. But what a difference a few weeks makes! Or, at least that's what Panettiere would have you believe. Warning: Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

The Heroes star was reportedly very upset with the script changes that occurred on Scream 4 because they "dumbed" her character down (as in, she probably acts stupid and then gets killed by Ghostface), but while speaking to MTV, you'd never know Panettiere was harboring any ill will.

I think it's just perfect timing, the amount of time that has passed since the last one came out. It's a perfect setup, with all of these films ... the Stab [movies] and all the things like that. I think with all of the Scream's the idea is to throw the audience for a loop every time. For an audience that is so well-versed in Scream's and in what happens and who becomes the killer, blah, blah, blah, it's trickier to throw them a curveball. I think they've done a really cool job with the script. We've had a blast on it.

See? She loves the script and all its "blah blah blah" plot nonsense. Nothing to see here otherwise. Please move on. And that script that she didn't like all that much? It's cool. Scream 4 problems solved. PS: No truth to the rumor that Harvey Weinstein is just out of frame, holding her contract while frothing like a rabid dog.
