Baby-Faced Pop Star Prepares For Glee Debut -- By Getting Botox
Well, this says horrific things about the pressures on today's teens in Hollywood: 18-year-old Charice Pempengco prepared for her upcoming arc on Fox's hit show Glee by "getting Botox and an anti-aging procedure 'to look fresh on camera.'"
The Filipino multi-talent explained that she felt the procedures were necessary to "fit in" with Ryan Murphy's photogenic cast. "All people will be anticipating how will Charice look?" she told the AP. "Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure." The report adds that Charice "underwent a 30-minute Thermage skin-tightening procedure and Botox to make her 'naturally round face' more narrow."
In an interview a week earlier, the multi-hyphenate called the casting a blessing and added that she was "very proud to be Filipino."
Not to state the obvious here, but isn't Charice now perpetuating the message that Ryan Murphy strives to squash each week by celebrating each character's uniqueness? And more importantly -- Javier Bardem, what cosmetic procedure are you considering so that you can compete on-camera with Will Schuester?

I'm not sure she's actually seen Glee, because Ryan Murphy's cast has more lines than the first season of The Gilmore Girls.
Perhaps in this episode, Glee will be tackling the issue of teenage pregnancy, and Charice wanted to look young enough to play the role of a fetus.
OK, if she'd gotten that procedure done for the *audition* I would have considered it a sad sign of the times, but I mean... she already had the part. I don't know the details so I could be wrong, but I'd say it's more an indication of her vanity than of Hollywood pressures.

Next she will have a procedure where in auto-tune will be permanently attached to her vocal chords.
Well, considering how far she's crooked her neck to the side to give her face angles in this photo, plastic surgery might be her only way of avoiding the chiropractor.

She should have spent the money on acting lessons.
but she didn't do that. She had the part and THEN did the surgery. While I can understand an 18 year old perhaps doing something like Thermage to repair damage from summers of stupidly laying out, or mild rosacea I think this young lady was a tad wacked. If she didn't fit in with Murphy's 'plan' he wouldn't have hired her. But she can't see that logic. She makes me think of the girls that are skin and bones and still believe they are fat. Even after you put out to them that they just put on size 00000 pants etc
