Movieline's Week in Review: Let's Go Crazy
Maybe it was the summer heat, maybe it was just some fluky cosmic alignment... who knows, but holy crap people were insane this week. But enough about the Movieline office, which enjoyed a hectic but spiffy new remodel! Let's look at what else went down since we last gathered in the Friday dusk. Drop back by this weekend for a visit with weekend editor Dixon Gaines, and the rest of us will see you Monday!
· We moved into our new digs and answered all your burning questions. Or at least a few of them.
· Mel Gibson had a bit of a rough week, and we had the tapes, rants, and more rants and expert commentary from Rad Bradbury to prove it. It's OK, though -- at least he's not really racist!
· Many thanks to interviewees including Lisa Cholodenko, Wendie Malick, Pauly Shore, Mariana Klaveno, Tim DeKay, Winnebago Man director Ben Steinbauer and Verge designee Sharni Vinson.
· Inception (and its accompanying comic) arrived! But will it really be the blockbuster everybody expects?
· We had a peek inside Pixar's private Planes.
· New trailers for The Social Network, Due Date, It's Kind of a Funny Story, Howl, Jack Goes Boating and Welcome to the Rileys all received our Two-Minute Verdict.
· Video also surfaced of Chuck Heston holding forth on the "X" rating and Jude Law holding his own at karaoke.
· Recaps! So many recaps, from Warehouse 13 to the Hills series finale, from SYTYCD to My Life on the D-List, from Ultimate Catch to Big Brother, from Real Housewives of New Jersey to... oh, well, there was no following that.
· Roman Polanski got out of jail free.
· Edward Norton fared much better after Marvel thwacked him in public. Mark Ruffalo and Joaquin Phoenix were rumored to take his spot on the whipping post.
