Hollywood Ink: Elizabeth Banks to Get Her Wings in Tink
Also today in Hollywood Ink: Thomas Jane and Jeremy Piven get their thriller on... Julie Bowen takes in a big-screen double feature... and Dean Koontz's dog is coming soon to a theater (or maybe a DVD is likelier) near you.
· Elizabeth Banks is attached to star in Disney's Tink, a live-action romantic comedy that "plays with the mischievous nature of the Tinkerbell character" in Peter Pan. But not too mischievous: Adam Shankman and McG are among the producers entrusted to shepherd this one through development. Neither are attached to direct (yet). [Variety]
· "I am 48 and found a dearth of of films that speak to my life experience," director Mark Pellington told Deadline. "Where is my generation's version of Cassavetes' Husbands?" This accompanies the news that Pellington's thriller I Melt With You -- which follows the lives of four men (two of whom will be played by Thomas Jane and Jeremy Piven) -- will begin shooting next month. Take that conflation however you will. [Deadline]
· Modern Family co-star Julie Bowen has two film roles now lined up, including as the wife of Kevin Spacey's character in Horrible Bosses and a high-strung wedding planner in Jumping the Broom. [Variety]
· Bestselling horror and fantasy author Dean Koontz's divergence into pet fiction has paid off! His books about his golden retriever Trixie have been optioned, with a feature adaptation of his mini-franchise in development with 1019 Entertainment. [Variety]
