Whoopi Goldberg Defends Mel Gibson: 'He's Not a Racist'
Mel Gibson scored his first major defender today in Whoopi Goldberg, who says she's spent enough time with the disgraced actor to know that his racial slurs that have come to light are misleading. "I don't like what he did here, but I know Mel and I know he's not a racist," Goldberg said on The View. That didn't sit well with Joy Behar -- or most people in the entire world, I'm supposing. Of course, this comes not long after Goldberg's infamous "rape-rape" comment defending Roman Polanski's wrongdoings. Yikes. Whoopi, when it comes to credibility, you in danger, girl.

Mel Gibson IS NOT a racist.
He's one of those people who grasps for the most god-awful, most offensive and provocative language he conjure up when he is angry. You don't pretend like you don't know what I mean.
The two incidents that were caught on tape--the DUI & the domestic disturbance--captured the guy during his darkest moments. I don't know about all of you, but I'll admit that I would never want any kind of recording device running during one of my darkest moments.
People need to be more thick-skinned. This country is so ridiculous. People act so much more offended than they actually are.

I'm English, and have known that Mel 'Braveheart' Gibson is a bigot for years. What he says when he is drunk or angry is bad enough, but he also puts his bigotry and hatred into his movies. A complete scumbag - he seems to hate everyone. If I was the Catholic Church I would disown him.
