VIDEO: Michael Bay, Transformers 3 Commence Blowing Up Chicago
Washington, D.C., wouldn't have them, but Chicago was more than happy to welcome Michael Bay and his Transformers 3 road show downtown in recent days. The residency has yielded a bounty of ruinous, explode-y riches for photographers and videographers alike, the bulk of which arrived online over the weekend at a few different spots. (There's a great slideshow at the Chicago Tribune's site, for starters.) But for both scope and sheer hilarity, only one amateur video -- and its hard-charging star, Optimus Prime -- really underscores what Bayhem means to the Windy City. It's after the jump.
Also worth noting: A whole Loop's worth of devastation that makes Gotham City look like the Wonka Factory. Shia LaBeouf should feel reassured, no doubt.

Here's hopin Transformers 3 is even LESS coherent than Transformers 2!
Reason #2,237 why CG is bad for cinema: No behind-the-scenes photos of Optimus Prime sitting in a portable chair smoking, or at the studio commissary with an ensemble of Nazis.
"Gunfire & explosions ahead - do not be alarmed"
Or as it's known on the south side of Chicago, "Tuesday evening".
So a truck drives around a corner, and then a small little fireworks shoots out? That's it?
