David Lynch Wants You to Help Fund His Next Movie

david_lynch_three_225.jpgWhen he's not jetting off to Hong Kong to film Marion Cotillard's tryst with a handbag, David Lynch is attempting to develop new projects of his own. Among them is Lynch Three, the final installment of a documentary trilogy chronicling the filmmaker's life and work (but mostly his work). That's where you come in -- if you've got $50 to spare.

Lynch's producer noted to The Independent that for that low, low price, donors to the project will receive a print of the filmmaker's "abstract self-portrait" or a T-shirt featuring the print. Moreover, they'll receive the chance to contribute questions for possible inclusion in the doc, which is expected to explore the period of Lynch's career leading up to and including the making of 2006 epic Inland Empire. And face it: You've been waiting to ask why Empire looks like pixelated, silver-blue mud for nearly four years now, and if Lynch will please, please go back to film (or some better hi-def) when he resumes features in the year(s) ahead. Which, really, should just be a feature-length omnibus of shorts adapted from Lynch's Twitter feed. You know: "Glued small man to mountain," "This weekend I'm going to try to find out if I'm connected to the moon," "This weekend I will be working with fire in the pink cookie," etc.

Anyway, another topic for another time. Send cash, people!
