Sons of Anarchy and Conan O'Brien: Tracking the Day's Bitterest Emmy Reactions
Considering that Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter called one-time NYC Hells Angels president Chuck Zito a "delusional bitch," it goes to reason that he wouldn't have the kindest words for the Emmy voters after they completely snubbed his series this morning. And sure enough, he didn't: "They are lazy sheep," Sutter wrote in a scathing blog post. Predictably, he didn't stop there -- but Mariska Hargitay, you may want to cover your ears.
Wrote Sutter:
Let's face it, kids, we are the dirty-faced outlaws who no one wants in their clean white town. We are too loud, too violent, too brash. We don't sing, have pretty sets, or wear retro suits. They admire us from afar, wish they could do what we do, then they pull the shades and settle for the familiar.
The outspoken showrunner also took umbrage to the fact that his wife, Sons of Anarchy star Katey Sagal, wasn't nominated either, dropping a not-so-subtle parenthetical, "(Mariska Hargitay are you f*cking kidding me?)," in the middle of a paragraph proclaiming that being angry at the Emmy process is just "lazy."
But wait! Lest you think Sutter is the only other proprietor of sour grapes, there's also nominee Conan O'Brien, who used Twitter to voice his ironic happiness over the ironic nomination The Tonight Show received: "Congrats to my staff on 4 Emmy nominations. This bodes well for the future of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien." Zing!
If only O'Brien and Sutter could have been as relaxed about the whole thing as Jeremy Piven. The former Emmy golden boy was left without a nomination this year and didn't seem all that broken up about it, tweeting: "'Stress is caused by being 'here' but wanting to be 'there.' - Eckhart Tolle."

I share Mr. Sutter's outrage that Katey Sagal was not nominated AGAIN! Her performance, for the past two seasons, as club Matriarch Gemma Teller Morrow has been nothing short of phenomenal. She is fearless and as much as I may like and respect some of the other nominees, her exclusion is just plain wrong.
Ok, Movieline, you know I love you, right? Did you READ Sutter's whole post? He goes on to be VERY zen about it. Basically stating that it is what it is. He talks about that despite the "snub", he's more than happy doing what he does. If anything, the blog post was to try and calm him fans who have expressed outrage to all the snubs.
Also, Conan's response wasn't bitter either.
It's great that you posted responses to nominations (or lack thereof), but I wouldn't have positioned the post about "bitter" reactions - since neither were.
I'm glad mariska was nominated again this year... For those who have actually watched law and order svu this year, she did a awesome job and she desearved it.
I did read the whole post -- which was basically structured like one big, "How long have you beat your spouse?" question. He bagged on the Emmys, crapped on Mariska Hargitay and then said it didn't matter and it's not big deal since he's above it all. That's fine -- and he should be pissed -- but let's not make it out like it was one big Kumbaya love-in.
Sure I love the show...but Jax's "I'm a tough sour puss" style of acting is getting a little old. I get it. You're hard. You don't have to flash between looking tough and crying in every scene.
And (spoiler alert),
I could care less that your kid was kidnapped last season. Oh, the baby we've seen twice this season? Is it a boy? I don't remember.
Yeah. I remember Mariska's work and how it didn't differ from any other season of SVU. I remember her shitty Russian accent from the episode she got punched in the face and that episode she and Christopher Meloni interrogated some thug (every episode).

Mariska is a fantastic actress and deserves indicação.She is notable as Olivia Benson and still is beautiful. What ugly people who can not lose.
Jeremy Piven has one 3 Emmy's his time is up.....no wonder he didn't care. Sons keeps getting ripped off.
