Did Lindsay Lohan Just Compare Herself to a Condemned Iranian Woman?
I can't believe it's come to this for me or... anyone, but Lindsay Lohan's Twitter feed has developed into a sincerely fascinating current-events sh*tshow since her jail sentencing Tuesday. As if her chosen background of topless nymph communing with a fluffy white Yak of the Heavens weren't awesome enough, how about the stream-of-consciousness flow from vulgar manicure self-defense to her assailing of "constitutionally perverted" sentencing guidelines to... well, it's complicated. Read on and let's sort it out.
It would have been easy enough to let Lohan's "F*** U" nail-job explanation go as her latest hilarious delusion: "@liana_levi didn't we do our nails as a joke with our friend dc? it had nothing to do w/court.. it's an airbrush design from a stencil xx." But last night, after some small talk, things just got weird:
# It is clearly stated in Article 5 of the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights that....
# "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment."
# this was taken from an article by Erik Luna.. "November 1 marked the 15th anniversary of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines. But there were no
# celebrations, parades, or other festivities in honor of this punishment scheme created by Congress and the U.S. Sentencing Commission...."
# Instead, the day passed like most others during the last 15 years:Scores of federal defendants sentenced under a constitutionally perverted"
# system that saps moral judgment through its mechanical rules."

That link will take you to a story about Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, an Iranian woman first jailed five years ago on adultery charges, then later convicted without much evidence and sentenced to die by stoning as early as this weekend.
By stoning! The barbarity (and gradual discontinuance) of the practice in Iran is a subject for another Web site, but Lohan's invocation of Ashtiani's case is ill-timed to say the least. Or, to say the most, it's kind of appalling, no? Or maybe I'm missing something here, and the whole segue from the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights to the U.S. Sentencing Commission to a woman about to be stoned to death is just coincidence. Who knows? But: If the expletive on Lindsay Lohan's fingernail can raise even the slightest cultural interest in the plight of a doomed Iranian woman, then maybe not all is lost. Step it up, Charlie Sheen.

“No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.”
Unless it's for a role in a movie, of course.
An ego the size of a planet! If Lohan and Lebron ever mated, their child would be the antichrist.
The only person she should be comparing herself to is Janis Joplin, in the bad way.
It's all part of her disease. Years later she will thank the judge for putting her in jail and rehab, 'cause where she's headed is skid row, unless someone intervenes, which is what someone did. Man, she has cajones to walk into the courtroom with those nails. She must think the judge is STUPID, but then look who's going to jail. I wonder how long she'll make it before someone will let her out.
So here's what you may not know or realize: a number of us have been rallying to drive forces that may be able to have some impact on the barbaric treatment of Sakineh Ashtiani. What we noticed during a Tweet rally last night was that Lindsay Lohan, of all things, was trending while this very serious issue was not. Knowing she is on Twitter, many of us used her Twitter (@LindsayLohan) to bring attention to Ashtiani's case. Clearly she's quoting an article. She is not comparing herself to Ashtiani, the woman in Iran. She is doing what people do on Twitter: sharing relevant information. Your comments seem to indicate a personal comparison, and I believe you are wrong. I'm not a defender of hers, but I do appreciate that she allowed herself and her contacts to be used to call attention to this situation. That's what this medium is about, no?
Lindsey only read the part where a woman got stoned to death, and thought, "Hey, I like to get stoned, too!"
LOL, oh, No. 7. Don't ever change.
Maybe she could use the Evil Twin defense.
Well if she feels like a condemned Iranian women... she should get stoned or hanged!!! STUPID WHORE
Only in America (and Iran) where you get sentenced to jail for using some drugs or alcohol... Lohan is older 21 Years, so she could do the hell she wanted, unbelievable that she can be sentenced to jail for that!
@ marcman
Really? You don't take into account her past record of DUI's, not attending court ordered classes and generally not giving the courts the respect they deserve? She put herself in that position along with other so called celebs. When it all falls apart then the sobbing starts. If I were in her position I would have made the court ordered courses my P-R-I-O-R-I-T-Y. Just my two cents.
I'm so sorry to say that YOU ARE AS SILLY AS LINDSAY LOHAN !!! Have you ever tried to know what the story of Lindsay Lohan is about?
She's not going to like Freaky Friday in the joint...
Well I liked her in "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen", furthermore I think that she might (not sure) needs some sort of counseling (is that English?) and help with her alleged addiction...
But sending someone (anyone) to jail for 30 days seems a little absurd to me... Something like: use the jail for the real criminals!
Well... I don't think it is easy for her (in her position: be followed around all the time by the 'press', everybody having (very) harsh opinions about her... and probably suffering from some kind of borderline personality disorder... (did I just claimed that she has borderline without even knowing her...?) So I can imagine on some account that she has other stuff to do than listen to some judge telling her what to do...
If you where in her position your live would be like a roller coaster ride you couldn't imagine...
Personally, I think that kangaroo court judge is a real D-Bag!

A person who does not care killing innocent kids while driving drunk in the street is a real criminal.
By the way if you happen to read the story of Lohan once in a lifetime, you might probably be able to understand that she's not sentenced to jail for her addiction.
"So I can imagine on some account that she has other stuff to do than listen to some judge telling her what to do..."
Reading this sentence makes me feel sorry for you. No one is above the law, and it's a shame you can't see that she was given many changes, more than regular people. Now she has to face the consequences of her actions, and hopefully justice will be served.
What can you expect? This woman is terminally stupid. You add her addictions to this mess and she is the example. Like a great many starlets with no legitimate talent and very little knowledge of herself and the world, she has no reality base.
These good looking kids that make a big splash and get caught up in a false feeling of their own importance seldom make it as full adults. For some reason they think some temporary fame makes them somehow above the rules of good behavior. They are some how one of the privileged with a feeling of entitlement. Rules are for others. They have no self control and very few boundaries in their behavior. And the sad truth is most of them will not be able to sustain a career, because they have nothing to give but a temporary flash and some colossal nerve. It is not enough. And in a few years time most of them will be gone and will not be remembered.
Lohan is marked by all this and her lack of education, or self control. She is a mess. And as long as she feels put upon, and her comparisons to those women with legitimate and horrible lives, she will learn nothing. She will always be poor me. People and the law just don't understand how important she is, how hard she tries. And people expect her to obey the law. She can't do all that. She Lindsay Lohan. And that should be enough for society to excuse her excesses.
So in other words you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. You just like her in a movie where she IS ACTING. Grow up.
Celebrities have to and should follow the exact same laws and be treated the exact same way as anyone else. Maybe if she JUST DIDN'T DO THESE THINGS ANYMORE this wouldn't have happened.
Lohan thinks just like a Crack Head.
Oh.....
@marcman
have you ever considered suicide? i mean, i think you should try it.
Hey Marcman. You are a total moron. She is not in prison for drinking you idiotic excuse for a human being. She is in jail for violating the probation she was given for her TWO DUI ARRESTS AND COCAINE POSSESSION. Which, is illegal you stupid idiot. Don't post if you're not smarter than rock .
HellO McFly!
She's in jail because she got caught Driving Under the Influence, which is illegal. Doesn't matter if you're over 21 or not.
