Joss Whedon's Wonder Woman Would Have Worn Pants Too

joss-whedon-wonder-woman-2.jpgWere you a little put out by the DC Comics unveiling of the newly redesigned Wonder Woman, who now wears pants and a Hot Topic jacket while boasting breasts the size of her head? If so, I'm curious to hear what you'd make of the following designs, which were commissioned for Joss Whedon's aborted take on the project.

Slashfilm noticed a few tweets from Whedon's costume designer Shawna Trpcic, who enclosed concept art from their stint on Wonder Woman a few years ago. You'll see the superheroine in four poses, and while the pants and Hot Topic trenchcoat seem to be de rigeur for a modern-day reimagining, at least there's one short-skirted take that somewhat suggests the original design. And the breasts! They're relatively normal! Nicolas Winding Refn, take notes.

I think the star-spangled miniskirt would look a bit laughable in live-action. But I like the fuck-me boots.

There is a reason WHY Wonder Woman got the make-over that everyone makes fun of. It was that or be cancelled. As for the "boobs as big as her head"? Have you seen the depiction of woman superheros in the last 20 years? Where have you been? Comic books are drawn for the 10-18 year old young boy. Big boobs are a prerequisite. I tend to feel that the makeover was also planned to help push the idea for a Movie...which has been floundering for 10 years. To help make the uniform less laughable for live action.

I have to say I dig the 2d picture on the first block. Loving the pants and top as well as the slightly more practical boots. I Could have gotten behind a WW that looked like this...
