Shame on CBS, which is ruining a good show. I wish they could have forget it !
slight correction on the Criminal Minds thing. AJ Cook will return briefly (2 episodes) to wrap up, however Paget will remain for the season (her last) with an expected 17 out of 22 ep appearance rate and star billing until she is cut (my guess is that they were playing to kill or seriously wound her off as a big story line and thus why they brought up the reduced appearance issue)
to be honest, while I love both actresses, their characters were less than awesome. Especially JJ. the writers couldn't seem to make up their minds about her. And they have been hinting that she's not Hotch and can't ignore her family for a while. So I wasn't shocked to hear she was going. Just a tad pissed that it was leaked in such a nasty way. And that they were considering no explanation.
Emily has also turned rather bland since they dropped the internal spy issue. She had no expertise like Elle did, although that has been killed over for all of them over the last couple of seasons and no character story. Somethings gotta give.
Garcia and Reid are the only really interesting characters. Morgan plays into both with interesting personal relationships. So those 3 are really the only ones that need to be keep in my book. Hotch as the unit chief I"ll stand by. Rossi could drop off and I wouldn't be bothered. They did fine in season 3 without a big player between Gideon leaving and Rossi turning up. But he's not horrid.
I feel for the young lady that comes into the show. the fans are going to diss her from day one for stealing a spot from AJ and Paget. Totally unfair. She could actually be good and if they go for a youngster it could be a chance to show some personal sides with new mentor/student relationships (certainly be interesting to see Reid teaching someone now that he's not the new kid anymore and perhaps finally have him get a little loving or at least attraction etc)
