Hollywood Ink: Will Matt Damon Be Cameron Crowe's Zoo-Keeper?

matt_damon_ink.jpg· Word on the street has Matt Damon in talks to join We Bought a Zoo, Cameron Crowe's previously reported adaptation of a memoir by a man who spent his family's life savings on a zoo -- and 200 animals -- slated for annihilation. And his wife has cancer. It's still pretty early in the development game, but go ahead and be moved accordingly. [Deadline]

Fernando Meirelles and Peter Morgan have a collaboration in mind as well, IMAX inches us closer to the apocalypse, and more Hollywood Ink after the jump.

· Director Fernando Meirelles (City of God, The Constant Gardener) and screenwriter Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon) will reportedly pair up for 360, an adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler's 1900 play about sexual relationships between classes. [Deadline]

· Not to be glib or mean, but there are some sentences you just don't want to read first thing in the morning. High on that list: "IMAX will next year release three more 3D Disney pictures, including Mars Needs Moms, starring Seth Green and Joan Cusack, from March 11, 2011." You know? I mean, please. [THR]

· Lukas Haas will play the village priest in Catherine Hardwicke's adaptation of Red Riding Hood. [Variety]

· Animation director David Bowers (Astro Boy) will make his live-action feature debut with the upcoming sequel to Fox 2000's Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which somewhere along the line grossed $64 million when nobody was looking. Steve Zahn, Rachael Harris and young star Zachary Gordon are all returning. [THR]
