Val Kilmer Apologizes to New Mexico
After calling Santa Fe residents drunks and nicknaming his county "the homicide capital of the Southwest," Val Kilmer has finally made nice with San Miguel County. Flanked by a six-person security detail, the Tombstone actor apologized to county commissioners and explained, "I have the same concerns as anyone else when you hear negative things about a place you love." Kilmer hopes to obtain a permit to turn his Pecos River Ranch house into a bed and breakfast. Now if only he would apologize to Vietnam veterans for calling them "borderline criminals." [AP]

I so tired of New Mexicans getting so hurt when someone insults one of their cities. Guess what????? Not everyone has to like us! I've lived in ALB all my life and there are things I like and things I don't and we all have a right to our opinions!
Got to love people that move out here to the southwest to get away from LA and then complain how it so backwards and not like LA (Santa Fe and Sedona full of these types). Note to Val you are lucky to have the southwest not the other way around. Tool sings best about LA.

I am originally (Native) from California, and Hispanic/Latino, and now live in NM..and I have to say that "some" New Mexicans" are so touchy about being New Mexican..I also get tired of hearing.."Well! my family has been here for 500 yrs" (A template as to what is coming next)..as for me, I don't give a Rat's A%$ how long you been here! That was yesterday! Today is today! These guys live somewhere in the pass and expect, base upon their Genes or whatever, that NM stays somewhere in the pass! Well for me, I am leaving soon..

Thank you Proud Son! My own personal scars from serving in the Vietnam War came from the way we were treated upon our return home rather than service in a foxhole. It is refreshing to read your post, thank you again many times over. As for Mr. Kilmer, he needs to either reconsider his sources of information or put a lid on his pie hole.
