The Tillman Story Trailer: Get Ready to Get Angry
I really can't wait to see how a certain right-wing movie blog deals with this one -- who's smearable, who are the easy ideological targets in The Tillman Story. The trailer for the acclaimed Sundance alumnus has made its way online, offering moviegoers' first glimpse at the riveting, devastating expose about the cover-up surrounding the death of football player-turned-soldier Pat Tillman.
After Movieline gave you the lowdown from Sundance and the first look at the Tillman Story poster, the trailer peels back a few preliminary layers of the documentary the Weinstein Company hopes can help elevate it back to Oscar heights next year. Moreover, director Amir Bar-Lev has a story to tell about the mistreatment of a soldier, his family and an entire American public by a government preoccupied with preserving the heroic tradition of its military at any costs -- even at the expense of a selfless troop's legacy.
The trailer -- and the film -- speak for itself; TWC will roll it out nationwide starting August 20.

That Big Hollwyood site sure does smell of sweaty old balls.
Sadly, it seems to me (w/o viewing movie) that Mr Tillman died in friendly fire. Awful circumstance yet happens more often than we know. Hence the term "War is Hell." Terrible, awful things happen. I look forward to seeing the film but know that his death was not intentional.
I won't see this movie for the same reason I won't watch "United 93", no matter how good the reviews are. I'm not interested when filmmakers take a tragic story we already know and amp up the melodrama and emotions of it for our edification. Fine, pat yourself on the back, the-story-needed-to-be-told, yeah-yeah, good work.
Tillman was shot at point blank range, 2-3 times in the head, stripped naked and had all his belongings, clothing, journals etc burned. Sound like normal friendly fire?

"United 93" is the fictionalized account of a fictionalized event. "The Tillman Story" is a non-fictional documentary of an obscured event. Pull your head out of your *ss.
INTHEYEARZERO Punked the shit outa Bierce. I was thinking the exact same thing when I read what that jackass said. Hey Bierce, "here's a quarter, buy a clue." -Wayne Campbell
You really should do something about all these spam comments, it makes it hard for a genuine person to be heard.
I think the story should be heard. It's a real story and ofcourse they are going ramp it up a bit to make sales, but anyone with half a brain can see there is real truth behind it, real suffering. I will be getting a ticket.
