Meet Kenny Wormald, Your New Footloose Lead
Back when the Footloose remake had Zac Efron set to star for his High School Musical director Kenny Ortega, it seemed like a no-brainer proposition, but as Efron, Ortega, and then fill-in lead Chace Crawford left the project, Footloose had less and less reason for being. Still, Paramount pressed on, and new director Craig Brewer has now cast a virtual unknown to fill the dance slippers of Efron and Crawford. Let's meet him!
The 24-year-old's name is Kenny Wormald, and as you can see, Julianne Moore from 30 Rock would find him adorable:
But can he take his shirt off and twirl madly, in order to express freedom of expression? As proven by this sequence from Center Stage 2 (Wormald's main acting credit), he can. Sold!

I was sold by the stoner-face screen-grab, but shirtless twirling is fun too.
I know there's the whole issue of getting a "name" to finance the film, but if you're going to remake Footloose (and I wonder why you would), why not make it a breakout role for an unknown talent? He is adorable.
This kid couldn't keep my interest during the youtube clip, I lasted 1 minute. How the hell is he gonna sustain interest throughout an entire movie. Fail!
This guy is Six Degrees away from being interesting.
Paramount went about this all wrong. They should've just sought out an actor whose last name was Sausage.
Can anyone in the universe actually want to see a remake of this movie?
It would never occur to me to cast a classically-trained professional dancer to play the lead in "Footloose". Isn't that missing the whole point of the movie?
The only thing, besides shirtless bros I guess, that I can see really working for this movie is the Hustle and Flow, Naked Christina Ricci Movie guy is writing and directing, so it might be at least interesting.
jesus, this guy is so boring. Is anyone gonna really wanna watch an 18-year old looking white boy that thinks he's an awesome dancer?!? Cuz i've seen that clip, and his 'dancing' aint even that great. It looks more like he's prancing around the stage.
