What's On: Leaving Grace
After three seasons on TNT, we have to bid adieu to Grace Hanadarko, Saving Grace's gritty detective. It's also somewhat karmic that Saving Grace -- which co-stars Laura San Giacomo -- would be canceled just as two of that actresses' Just Shoot Me alums win roles on new series. I suppose we can honor her memory by looking forward to Wendie Malick on Hot in Cleveland and George Segal on Retired at 35. And David Spade on Rules of Engagement's second season. I suppose.
Saving Grace [TNT, 9 PM]
Two brand-new episodes conclude the third and final season. In the final hour, Grace undergoes a big spiritual change and retreats to Oklahoma City. Before that point she will hopefully break some bad guys on her shoulder blades and dice up a criminal mastermind with just one hardened glance.
The Bachelorette [ABC, 8 PM]
Ali takes the nine remaining gents to Iceland (of course) as part of their trip around the world. After she tours Reykjavik with two of them, Ali only chooses one to continue in the running towards becoming America's Next Top... Married Person. At episode's end, only seven dudes will move forward. We should be able to pick who will win a Bachelor spinoff by now; my bet's on Roberto. You?
Persons Unknown [NBC, 10 PM]
The group is in shambles since their every escape attempt has been foiled. But Renbe gathers himself to re-investigate Janet's disappearance -- despite the warnings of others. Call me crazy, but this show is really entertaining. If it goes away because you all weren't watching, I'll bawl like a baby but in a cool-aloof-blogger way.
West Side Story [TCM, 8 PM]
It's overlong and ends on an eye-rolly note, but so much is unforgettable about West Side Story: Jerome Robbins's choreography, the Oscar-winning performances of supporting cast members George Chakiris and RIta Moreno, and the dark Technicolor tableau of a dance-invigorated New York City. If you don't buy Natalie Wood as an eyelash-batting conchita, don't worry -- the Jets/Sharks knife fights churn out the good times.
