Movieline Stages the First Sing-Off Between Lea Michele and Glee's Newest Star, Charice
This just in: Glee's most vocally talented cast member, Lea Michele, will finally have some competition next season when international pop talent Charice joins Ryan Murphy's series. According to EW, the musical prodigy will guest star as a foreign exchange student who competes with Michele's character for the New Directions' spotlight. Instead of waiting until September to see the ladies compete for the McKinley High crown, Movieline has staged what will inevitably be the first of many overly dramatic sing-offs -- and since Schue is currently unavailable, we are enlisting you, dear readers, to declare the round one winner.
Below, live performances which showcase both starlets' extraordinary vocal ranges, star power and appreciation for Oscar-nominated soundtracks. In the first clip, 18-year-old Charice, whom Oprah declared the "Most Talented Girl in the World," performs a medley from The Bodyguard featuring "I Have Nothing" and "I Will Always Love You." In the second clip, Lea Michele performs "Don't Rain On My Parade" at this year's Tonys.

Charice hands down. Lea can't sing low notes.
Got to go with Lea. The purity and power (and unlike most medern singers she can enunciate)of her voice gives her the will for me. Though Charice is talented and will improve with time.
Both are great but I prefer Lea. She is just so smooth and pristine, IMO.
Plus Rachel Berry is the star of the show so in the end Rachel will be on top. I hope it is a short story arc for Charice becasue I have a feeling her act will be sub par.
I hate how people act like there opinion is fact. Singing is subjective so don't try to pretend your word is the final word.
Charice fans crack me up . If you say you prefer Lea they just throw more video your way. I like her and she can sing but I like Lea a little better.
All the video in the world aren't going to change what sound more pleasant to me.
Can't people just like both and be done with it. Why must it be a competition.
In my personal opinion. (Yes I have a personal opinion, don't shoot me)
I think Lea is better, It's more believable and when she sings it's beautiful, and that's coming from a non-Rachel fan.
Charice lacks something for me. I just don't like her voice.
But as I said, that's my opinion, we're all entitled to one.
some of the audience felt superb performance that's why they gave charice standing ovation. this happens all the time and you get goosebumps too hearing her live performances!
i wonder how well she'll be doing in glee... i don't want to expect much.
The best way to compare singers is to hear their ability to sing in a cappella (without a mic) - just their voice. I have heard Charice many times and she is freaking awesome. I have heard Lea and (for me) her voice has too much of a high pitch to it - kind of annoying . She can't seem to tone it down. If you don't believe me, go to Youtube and find out for yourself. She hurt my ears on Journey's "Faithfully."
Charice is technically very good, but her voice doesn't have anything particularly unique or special about it - tons of people are fantastic just because they have really good training. Lea Michele is an extraordinary singer because she puts so much of herself into every performance.
I agree.. Charice' voice is strong and powerful but I prefer Lea Michele's sweet and angelic voice.
